On this show, we often discuss the importance of communication and support when trying to recover from abuse. A large part of that is therapy. But before we can be ready to jump into therapy, there is a much more difficult step to overcome, and that is finding the courage to speak up about what happened to you. So many people struggle with shame and embarrassment over things that weren’t even their fault. This week, we talked to Kay, who’s story really made us think about the importance of speaking up, and how much it can hurt to keep things bottled up inside.
